Green solvents processability is crucial to the large area fabrication of polymer solar cells. In this review recent research efforts and advances in green solvent processable opvs are summarized and two basic strategies including material design and solvent selection of light harvesting layers are discussed. Organic solar cells oscs offer a relevant case in point when considering challenges imposed by green manufacturing oscs usually rely on a blend of electron donating and electron accepting semiconductors with specific energetic optical and transport properties in order to achieve efficient harvesting of sunlight and photocurrent generation.
